A hand painted porcelain cheese keeper by Franz Anton Mehelm. The dish has a very detailed floral design with colourful blossoms and gold detailing throughout which looks so lovely.
Franz was a 19th-20th century pottery designer from Bonn, Germany. He made porcelain and earthernware objects for the home. He called his pottery Royal Bonn and he made exquisite pieces of fine china from 1836-1931.
It has an impressed makers marks and an item number therefore the cheese dish is dated 1870 - 1920.

In fair antique condition with some discolouration throughout and a chip on the bottom of the dish. As it is over 100 years old this is to be expected and it definitely doesn't take away from the beauty of the piece.
