A striking blue and cream antique wall sconce planter by Charles Pickman.

Charles Pickman was the son of an English trader in 1822. He moved to Spain to continue a business started by his brother William. In 1841 he converted a monastery just outside Seville creating Sevilla pottery where this item piece was made. The factor then became a supplier to the Spanish royal household  In 1871. The makers mark can be found on the back of the sconce and is marked 1862. It has also been documented and marked no10. This was to stop people from imitating and creating fakes.

Dimensions:

Length: 27cm

Width (along the widest bit at the top): 17cm

Depth of sconce: 10cm (approx)

Condition:

In good antique condition with some signs of wear to the paintwork as this piece is over 100 years old and a tiny little grazed chip along the bottom left hand side (again barely visible). This is visible on the bottom of the sconce and around various parts of the sconce however there are no major defects or damage. There are some wear marks to the paintwork but overall the piece is in good condition for its age.

I endeavour to mention any wear but please be aware that these items are not always in perfect condition. If you would like further information regarding the condition, I am always happy to answer any questions you have. You can email me via my website live chat, email me at theantikstore@gmail.com or direct message me on Instagram here.
